Warning: There are spoilers ahead for "Captain America: Civil War."
Disney is making good use of its Lucasfilm purchase to create corporate synergy.
If you head out to see "Captain America: Civil War" this weekend, be on the lookout for a "Star Wars" Easter egg. While the film doesn't mention "Star Wars" by name, it will be hard to miss.
Last chance to head back before spoilers.
During the big airport sequence between a dozen of the Avengers, Spider-Man, played this time by a young Tom Holland, makes the reference to a galaxy far, far away.
As #TeamIronMan (Black Widow, Black Panther, Vision, Spidey, and War Machine) is trying to take down a giant-sized Ant-Man, Spidey offers up a suggestion from something he considers to be a really old movie — "Empire Strikes Back."
He asks the team if they remember a scene in "Star Wars: Episode V — The Empire Strikes Back" where "they're on that snowy planet with the walking thingy."
The "they" Spidey is referring to is Luke Skywalker, his comrade Wedge Antilles, and the rest of the rebel alliance. The "snowy planet" is the planet Hoth and the "walking thingy" is one of many AT-ATs.
In "The Empire Strikes Back," Antilles wraps the tow cable from his snowspeeder around one of the giant AT-AT Walkers' legs to trip it up and render it useless.
Similarly, Spider-Man tells the team he can use his webbing to take down the giant Ant-Man.
It's a clever way for Disney to remind audiences of one of its other big franchises without mentioning a character from it by name.
"Captain America: Civil War" is now in theaters.
