We finally have our look at the first "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" toy, and it's not a male action figure.
Gwendoline Christie, who plays Captain Phasma in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," revealed the first action figure from the upcoming movie at the annual "Star Wars Celebration" event and it's of Jyn Erso, the female protagonist of "Rogue One."
Christie presented actress Felicity Jones, who will be playing Erso, with the toy during the "Rogue One" panel Friday afternoon.
That's a big deal since Hasbro was slow to release action figures of Rey, the lead female character from "The Force Awakens." While that very well may have been to keep some of the secrets of the film under wraps until its December 18 release last year, #WheresRey became a big topic of discussion online when parents began having a tough time finding the character in stores.
According to Sweatpants and Coffee, via IndieWire, that wasn't the case. Lucasfilm executives reportedly wanted fewer Rey toys because "no boy wants to given a product with a female character on it."
Hopefully, there will be a lot of Jyn Erso toys out there.
"Rogue One" will take place in between "Star Wars" episodes III and IV as Erso and a group of individuals try and steal plans for the Death Star. The movie will be in theaters December 16, 2016.
