A campaign to let a terminally ill Star Wars fan see Rogue One before he dies has gained the attention of none other than Mark Hamill.

36-year-old Neil Hanvey was given a terminal cancer diagnosis in April, with only eight months to live.

However, his wife Andrea and hospice worker Amy Duncan were determined to let him see the movie from his hospital bed before it comes out in December.

They started the campaign with the hashtag #RogueOneWish on social media, hoping to get the attention of Disney and Lucasfilm.

And now the Luke Skywalker actor has given it his support on Twitter with a retweet.

Let's hope that Neil gets his wish. After all, a social media campaign for terminally ill Star Wars fan Daniel Fleetwood to see The Force Awakens last year proved successful.

Excitement for Rogue One is ramping-up with the recent release of a brand new trailer, including a cameo from a rather iconic character.
