'Star Wars' just surprised everyone with a brand new app and there's all sorts of crazy stuff packed inside

There's a brand new 'Star Wars' app in the app store today and fans should be pretty excited — it's a lot of fun for a free app.

The video above shows you all the cool stuff built inside.

Here's what the home screen looks like. As you can see, it gives you the latest 'Star Wars' news and your current weather, but puts it in the context of a 'Star Wars' planet. Apparently it's 61 degrees in Endor:

There's a ton of things that you can do in the app, perhaps the most fun are the selfie and Jedi training pieces.

In Jedi training you battle against that little orb that shoots lasers at you, using your accelerometer, a la 'A New Hope.'

And in the selfie mode, you can pose with characters. It's a litte pointless, but it's free so what the heck? It's fun.
