Among the newest announcements is the much-anticipated "Incredibles" sequel. It will be out on June 21, 2019. Also, "Cars 3" has a June 2017 opening. And "Toy Story 4" has been moved from June 2017 to June 2018.

Additionally, Disney has announced four “Untitled Disney Fairy Tale (Live Action)” movies for December 22, 2017; November 2, 2018; March 29, 2019, and November 8, 2019.

Die-hard 'Star Wars' fans were tasked with creating new movie posters and the results are out of this world

Star Wars

Some of the biggest (and most artistic) "Star Wars" fans were tasked to create  movie posters for the December release of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" after Drew Struzan’s official — but limited — illustration for the movie was revealed at D23 back in August.

Over 200 people submitted their original posters in the hopes of winning Freelancer.com's contest (and the $750 prize), and some of the entries are absolutely stunning!

The design had to be original — and people could submit as many designs as they wanted.

Scroll to see some of the incredible submissions for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" movie posters — including the entry that won the whole thing.

Keith Aloysious Soertsz created this one. In his own words, Soertsz says he "tried staying in line with the visual aesthetics of the original posters from 1977, while using a fairly modern digital painting approach."

User Reihra says this was "hastily done, but still covers the main theme/conflict" of "The Force Awakens."

The artist behind this poster wrote it took him over 80 hours to complete.

While there are plenty of panels and celebrity sighting to be had at New York Comic Con, some of the coolest items to look at during the four day event is the artwork on display, and there is plenty of it!

So far, these intricate displays made out of pieces of M&Ms and Jelly Belly jelly beans are some of the best pieces of art we've seen.

Check them out below.

People are already doing amazing things in the new 'Star Wars' game

The "Star Wars Battlefront" beta is open to everyone, for free, on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.

You don't need a special download code, you just need the ambition to go to the digital storefront on your favorite gaming platform and download the beta.

It's a quick download, and you'll be glad you did.

Why's that? Because it's incredible

As we wrote yesterday, if you like Star Wars even remotely, you should be playing "Star Wars Battlefront." It's a Star Wars fan's dream. You want to pilot a TIE fighter or a massive AT-AT? You can totally do both of those things! You want to experience a crazy light saber battle between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in the middle of a 40-person battle on the snow planet Hoth? Here you go:

And that's far from all, of course. Reddit's gaming community is a testament to just how much cool stuff is happening in the new "Battlefront" beta pretty much constantly: from /r/Gaming to /r/StarWarsBattlefront, the forums are ablaze with examples of amazing stuff from the "Battlefront" beta.

In one game mode, the Rebels (Luke Skywalker and co.) take on the Imperials (Darth Vader and co.) on the aforementioned snow planet, Hoth. The Imperials have huge, hulking gun machines called AT-ATs that must be destroyed for the Rebels to win (conversely, destroying the Rebel base with said AT-ATs is the win condition for the Imperials).

The AT-ATs can be destroyed in a few ways, though! You could, for instance, clear the way for an aircraft bombing run, which weakens the AT-ATs and makes them vulnerable to ground attacks. But who has the time for all that?

Another option is simply hopping in a Snowspeeder (small aircraft) and wrapping a tow-line around the legs of an AT-AT. The results are sublime:

In another incredible example, one TIE fighter pilot decides he's had enough of flying. The only issue is that the pilot is 10,000 feet above the planet and it's a long way down:

And that's not all for aerial madness.

Given the massive aircraft battle taking place above Hoth, there's always a chance that a downed fighter jet might, say, crash into you directly. In one such example, the player amazingly survives a head-on collision with a crashing TIE fighter:

But let's be honest — you just wanna see Darth Vader wreck shop, right? That's kind of his modus operandi. The good news is that you can totally play as Darth Vader, and when you're doing that, you can totally wreck shop. Here's just one amazing example we found this morning, a single day after the beta went public:

A huge thanks to the amazing folks on Reddit, at both /r/Gaming and /r/StarWarsBattlefront, for their tireless efforts in finding this incredible stuff.

Disney is putting out a ton of movies through 2020 — here are the ones we're most excited about

Disney is putting out a lot of movies over the course of the next five years.

There's just a few more months until "The Force Awakens," the first of six new "Star Wars" movies, hits theaters. "Episode VII" will be out on December 18, 2015.

The live-action "Jungle Book" showed off absolutely stunning CGI during its trailer. It'll be out April 15, 2016.

In July 2016, the always-great Steven Spielberg will direct Bill Hader in an adaptation of the Roald Dahl classic "The BFG."

"Moana," meanwhile, is one of Disney's handful of original ideas. The character of Moana will be Disney's first Polynesian princess. It'll be out Thanksgiving 2016.

"Guardians of the Galaxy" might be the best movie to come out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The highly anticipated sequel, "Vol. 2," will be out on May 5, 2017.

Another Disney animated film, "Coco," is inspired by the Mexican holiday of Dia de los Muertos. Even though we haven't seen a single frame of it, we're still psyched to watch it on November 22, 2017.

And onto Pixar.

While everyone thought "Toy Story 3" would mark the end of the franchise, Pixar brought it back for one more movie. "Toy Story 4" supposedly focuses on a romance between Woody and Bo Peep. It lands in theaters on June 15, 2018.

And finally Pixar's long anticipated superhero comedy "The Incredibles 2" will be out on June 21, 2019.

Teens just aren't as interested in the new Star Wars movie as everyone else.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes second to the final installment of the Hunger Games in a survey of the most anticipated movies for the teen demographic this year, according to a report by US investment bank Piper Jaffray.

Divergent: Allegiant - part 1 is third in the list.

The bi-annual survey of more than 9,000 teens, with an average age of 16, revealed that denim is coming back into fashion. The fabirc is "inflecting positively for the first Fall since 2010," while accessories spending among females fell 4%.

In cosmetics, the trend is for big brands to cede ground to smaller shops. "Central to this shift is the rise of individuality over conforming to a crowd," Piper Jaffray said.

The biggest brands for teens are Netflix, Nike and Amazon, with Amazon Prime membership up 4% in the second half of the year.

Nike dominates for clothing, with 27% citing it as the top brand for clothes and 50% for footwear. Netflix outstrips traditional cable TV by 38% to 29% in media consumption.

Here's what that looks like:

The bi-annual survey of more than 9,000 teens, with an average age of 16, revealed that teens are spending less at big brands, and moving towards finding boutique buys for things like fashion and cosmetics.

"Central to this shift is the rise of individuality over conforming to a crowd," Piper Jaffray said.

That said, big clothing brands still dominate teen spending, as this chart from the report shows:

The survey revealed a lot about what teens are excited about and what they want to spend their money on.

Recently, a fan brought it up to Hamill on Twitter. Hamill responded that he actually said, "There she," as in "There she is."

Netflix is in 'ongoing discussions' for the rights to the new Star Wars movie (NFLX)

The Force Awakens' villain, Kylo RenNetflix is in an annoying spot when it comes to the new Star Wars film.

In 2012, Netflix made an enormous deal with Disney that would bring the exclusive streaming rights of all its new films to Netflix — starting January 1, 2016.

The problem with that start date is that it narrowly shaves off one of the most anticipated films in recent memory, "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." The seventh film in the series is scheduled to release in theaters on December 18.

On Wednesday, CEO Reed Hastings confirmed that Netflix will not get the rights to that film. As things stand now, Star Wars is set to go to Starz.

But that doesn’t mean there aren’t backroom negotiations happening for the rights — and those kinds of talks are taking place, according to Netflix.

“It’s an ongoing discussion,” Hastings said of the rights to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." He added that it’s primarily up to Disney — and, presumably, Starz.

Whether or not you’ll be able to watch the new Star Wars film on Netflix next year might depend on just how much Starz is willing to negotiate, and how badly Disney wants all seven films to be available on Netflix.

And this!

Yet, despite the fact that the beta ended this past Tuesday, people are still pushing out incredible footage of "Star Wars Battlefront" action. Disney and Lucasfilm released a new poster for "The Force Awakens," the new "Star Wars" movie that comes out December 18.

It looks like this:

star wars force awakens poster

It's pretty standard for a "Star Wars" poster, a collage of all the characters and vehicles from the movie.

But there are also a few notable mysteries.

Warning: Stop reading now if you want to avoid spoilers or speculation about the next "Star Wars" movie.

Mystery 1: Where is Luke?

We see all the main characters on this poster except for Luke Skywalker, who's played by Mark Hamill. We already have confirmation Hamill will be in the movie, but he's not on the poster along with Princess Leia, Han Solo, and the new main characters Finn (the guy with the blue lightsaber), Rey (the woman with a bun in the middle), Poe (the X-Wing pilot), and Kylo Ren (the new bad guy with the red lightsaber).

new star wars poster characters

Luke's role in the new movie has been the source of a lot of speculation. "The Force Awakens" takes place about 30 years after "Return of the Jedi." What has Luke been up to since then? The most common theory is that he went into hiding and will have to come back in this movie as the galaxy faces a new threat from an evil group known as The First Order.

Many think Luke will come back to train Finn to be a Jedi, just like Yoda trained him in "The Empire Strikes Back." The poster shows Finn holding a lightsaber, so it's pretty clear he's our new Jedi hero for the next few movies.

So, given all the mystery surrounding Luke, it makes sense that Disney and Lucasfilm would purposefully leave him off the latest poster.

Mystery 2: What is that round ship in the top right of the poster?

new death star star wars force awakens posterIf we had to guess, it looks like another Death Star. This is pure speculation, but we wouldn't be surprised if The First Order designed a modern version of the Death Star to wreak havoc across the galaxy, just like the Galactic Empire did in the original trilogy.

"Star Wars" movies tend to follow a common narrative, with the third act focusing on a battle in three parts: a lightsaber battle between Jedi and Sith; starfighters in space; and a ground team. (See "The Phantom Menace" and "Return of the Jedi" for the best demonstrations of that.)

It's possible we'll see a similar final battle in "The Force Awakens," with the good guys trying to blow up the latest version of the Death Star, or whatever it's called this time.

The fun doesn't stop there. Disney also announced that a new trailer for the movie will debut during "Monday Night Football" on ESPN Monday night.

The new 'Star Wars' poster hints at a mysterious new weapon from the next movie

It's going to be a big week for "Star Wars" fans.

On Monday, Disney will release a trailer for the next "Star Wars" movie, "The Force Awakens," during "Monday Night Football" on ESPN. As a teaser for the new trailer, Disney released an official poster for "The Force Awakens."

It looks like this:

star wars force awakens poster

And of course, fans are already picking apart the imagery in the poster. It's pretty mysterious.

One of the biggest mysteries: What is that big, spherical thing in the top right corner? Is it a new kind of Death Star?

star wars force awakens star killer base

Probably.

Warning: Stop reading now if you want to avoid spoilers or speculation about the next "Star Wars" movie.

Some fans have pointed out that the mysterious object could be the Starkiller Base, a fortress listed in the database on the official "Star Wars" site.

Here's the full description of what the Starkiller Base is, according to starwars.com:

An ice planet converted into a stronghold of the First Order and armed with a fiercely destructive new weapon capable of destroying entire star systems.

So it sounds like the bad guys in the new movie, also known as the First Order, have turned an entire planet into a weapon capable of wiping out solar systems. That's way scarier than the Death Star, which could only destroy one planet at a time.

This isn't the first time we've seen the Starkiller Base. The second teaser trailer for "The Force Awakens" shows the First Order at a Nazi-like rally on a frozen planet. That certainly fits the Starkiller Base description.

star wars the force awakens stormtroopersBy the way, this isn't the first time we've seen a weapon in the "Star Wars" universe that can destroy an entire star system. In the Expanded Universe novels, there's a weapon called the Sun Crusher that can do just that. It was featured in a series of novels called "The Jedi Academy" trilogy written in the the early 90s. However, those novels are no longer considered part of the official "Star Wars" canon.
